Being a Jordan Ireland fan means you often have to be a bit of a detective to find he's been affiliated with several projects and recordings outside of The Middle East and those with his name on the front. Well worth the sleuthing and further bolstered by the discovery of other musicians well worth your time, money and ears. When you discover these, leave clues for others to find, making it easier to discover these wonderful, but oft too-well-hidden gems. Anthony Childs
Woozy, wandering, drifting and swaying are all words that might represent the aural tellings of this album by the mysterious Aussies collective called Blue Divers. Some of this recalls Yo La Tengos prettiest instrumentals to me with guitars, keys, and muffled percussion that creates a sonic palette that's akin to the last rays of sun on a late afternoon, just as it’s setting and singing you sweetly home. i cant put my finger on this record but its like abstract astral-lullaby folk. so many well placed samples, cushioned layers and subtle transitions with a blanketing warmth across its production creates a unique drift through a spring morning dreamscape. jokeish
